British University Handball Championships

Oxford University Handball Club has entered the annual British University Handball Champs since our founding in 2001.

We are one of the most successful club in British University Handball, having won the University Championships an unparalleled 8 times with the Men's team along with a victory in 2016 for our women's team.

Various groups have ran the BUHC since its beginnings in the 1960s however between 2010 and 2015, the competition was organised by the Association of British University Handball Clubs (ABUHC) which OUHaC was a founding member. In more recent times, unichamps has been under the control of England Handball (EHA) as they look to promote the sport to BUCS. After a successful campaign of promoting and developing the university handball system, in 2021 the inaugural BUCS Handball Championships were held.
